Love Shouldn’t Hurt x Esjay

Local graphic designer, Monja, has been the creative behind many incredible ranges for Esjay over the years! 

In 2023, she approached Esjay with a special request to do a Gender Based Violence (GBV) range for woman’s month. She proceeded to tell us how she had been physically abused by her partner at the time - so much so, that he had left her with a broken nose, + various other injuries. 

Monja documented all her bruises over this time, and used those images to create this very special and powerful Esjay range. 

Her message to you is;

You are never the reason for an abusive person to hurt you. They are the abuser. 

You will never deserve pain and neglect and violence. The abuser will try to portray you as the reason for the abuse, but that is never the truth.

You are a survivor. It was never your fault. You never deserved it.

Love shouldn’t hurt – EVER. Love heals. Love gives you a sense of peace. Belonging. Safety. 

You are loved.

We hope through this range we can create awareness about GBV , + raise funds for the Jes Foord foundation.
