The Rhino Range

Updated: Sep 2, 2020

A message from Amy Attenborough —

My brother, Josh and I have just returned from living for 19 days in the wilderness for a challenge called Wild Again For 19 (@wildagain.africa). We walked just under 400km and lived without a tent or rifle and very little food in a big five wilderness area called Manyoni Game Reserve to raise funds for the protection of rhino and other endangered species. All the money raised went to the Zululand Conservation Trust (ZCT)

The saying that kept us going on the walk was “one foot in front of the other” and we are SO excited and grateful that Esjay has stepped in to take the next strides for our beloved rhinos! For every item you purchase from this range, a portion goes to the ZCT to aid them in their good work.

Rhinos, who have been evolving for 50 million years, are now threatened by extinction but important organisations such as the ZCT are doing their bit to ensure this doesn’t happen. The ZCT funds a rhino orphanage that takes in baby rhinos orphaned by poachers and rehabilitates them back into the wild (check out the sweetness here @zululand_rhino_orphanage). They also provide a safe haven for black and white rhino and are proud to have a growing population (with some soon to be moved to a local neighbouring community reserve). Not only do they do this but the ZCT also works for the protection of wild dogs, pangolins, cheetah and supports communities surrounding Manyoni Game Reserve.

We thank you so much for supporting Esjay and as a result supporting our beloved animals. It’s up to us to protect these creatures for generations to come. Small acts have BIG consequences! If we can all just put one foot in front of the other for conservation, imagine where we can go together!

A big shout out must also go to Mike Sutherland (@mikesutherlandphoto) for gifting his time and expertise to this range. Mike proved his incredible wildlife photography skills many years ago and has now shown that he's just as good with human subjects too.

If you want to check out our 19 day video diary you can visit @wildagaina.africa and visit www.zululandconservationtrust.org for more info on their good work.

So much love,

Amy Attenborough and ESJAY
